I picked out an autumn wheat color for the walls, then track lighting with halogen lamps.
The laminate turned out beautiful--Looks better than the wood floors that we spent a fortune on downstairs. These look like genuine wood. I got the flooring at Lowes enough to cover 350 sq ft and paid around $900 total. Combining the wall color with the white trim and laminate oak flooring, it is my dream art studio!
